Description
Bridge Street in Westport, painted the way the town paints itself. Crimson red the whole way round the shopfront, gold serif capitals on a black board, and a slate roof with the moss left on it.
The flute player out of the Chieftains bought it in 1974 and it has been a session house ever since. The music happens in the back room, and people plan a trip to Mayo around it.
Painted flat and straight on, the way you remember a place rather than the way a camera takes it. Six colours, hand-laid, with the brush left showing.
